Information Based Websites

An information based website is any website that is not an online store. These can be small business websites, club and charity websites, sporting clubs or any other website that tells your ideal client why they would use your products or services.


A well designed website will walk your client around your website, showcasing your services and encouraging them to get in touch to learn how you can help them with their particular challenge.


Website design is crucial to ensuring that the perfect client feels comfortable, can easily access all navigation and options they might need and is constantly reassured that your business is the best fit for them. By using great SEO principles, designing for your product or service AND your client, and making your website easy to get around, you can great increase your chances of it generating better client relationships which lead to more business for you.

PLANNING & PROCESS:

After you have given me the go ahead for your new website, you will be given 2-3 time slots to choose from, during which we will build your website. Unless I have a cancellation, time slots are usually allocated at least 6 weeks ahead. This is for 2 reasons:

  1. the time you need to assemble your content is always way more than you estimate. 6 weeks to put all your information and images together seems like a long time, however you could need it and it takes the pressure off you having to do this in a time crunch.
  2. While I do obviously still support my existing clients, during the time slot you are allocated, all my design time is assigned to your project. This means we can get answers quickly and move through the process easily.

ONGOING COSTS:

There is an ongoing monthly cost for website hosting. This fee covers my platform hosting your website files, ongoing upgrades, security and the website editor. Information based websites have a monthly fee of $40 + gst

If you have all your content and images ready we can push an information based website through in about 14-20 days, however this will depend on my current commitment levels and bookings.

YOUR INVOLVEMENT:


Creating a new website is a serious commitment and not just from me. I want to be very clear up front - this will take time and effort on your behalf. You will need to provide me with some design inspiration. You know what you like & I don't just yet. You will need

  • to get all your content together which includes
  • a full description of your business, who your ideal client is,
  • products or services you provide,
  • team profiles,
  • pricing structures and
  • all the images for this info 
  • you will also need to approve stock images if required, 
  • you will be required to give feedback on initial design previews &
  • be available for contact during the development period.

Your website quote will include:


  • A dedicated login to your website editor which is mostly simple drag and drop
  • Home & Inner Page Design (the inner page can be duplicated in the future for all your extra pages)
  • Addition of 5 pages (usually home, about, services, contact, and another sub page)
  • Blog Page Design & Setup
  • Upload of your content for up to 5 pages
  • Terms of Use, Privacy and GDRP legal statements for your website (I supply standardised wording for these templates which you will have to agree to or alternatively supply your own).
  • Google Analytics and Tag Manager setup (if not already setup)

MORE INFO:

Any time frame quoted is dependent on all your website assets (images, content, product pics etc) being supplied at or prior to the start of the project. While I do my best to offer you the utmost support during the process, not having your content together could result in me having to move on to other bookings and will delay your website launch.  It will also lead to a $500 rebooking fee.

When you decide to go ahead with your website build, we decide on a specific time slot that suits us both. This gives you time to get your content together and be ready to go when your time slot arrives.

This is where the magic happens. Every single website I build is designed with that business and client base in mind. From a travel blog, to an information based website to an online store, each website has a unique design.

Built With SEO

While a great website is not a guarantee of traffic, building your website with SEO (search engine optimisation) included from scratch gives you a great base for building your client base and gives you an idea of how to proceed

Indepth Research

Once we have talked and you are happy to proceed, I forward you a very indepth questionaire designed to collect all the info I need about your business. This helps me to build and design the best website for your business.

Content Tools

Content is the term we use to describe all the text and images that appear on your website. I have some great tools at my disposal to make it as easy as possible to collect this information from you and your team.

Mobile First

To acheive the best outcome for any device, I build a responsive design AND a dedicated mobile version of your website. Google has a "mobile first" priority, so it is important that your website is technically developed for mobile.

Platform Training

I use an excellent platform to build my client websites. It is very simple to use and makes it so easy for you or a team member to maintain and update your website. I give you or your team training on the platform and then links to heaps of helpful videos.

Integrated Analytics

Tracking visitor use of your website is essential to make the most of your content and be sure you are giving your prospective clients the best experience. Google Analytics integration is included standard on all websites I build.

Custom 404 Page

A 404 page is what your visitors will see if they accidently type in the wrong URL. It's also what is shown if you accidently rename a page without redirecting it. A 404 custom page will reflect your web personality and can give you another chance to secure traffic.

2 Hour Handover

Even though we will have spent probably around 4 weeks communicating at this point, once your website is ready for hand over we will spend another 2 hours doing handover. All the "how-to's" are covered and questions answered here. 

Extensive Testing

Prior to handover, your website is tested across browsers, platforms and devices. While phones are ever evolving this ensures that we meet all the current device standards and places us in a good place for future updates.

Ongoing Support

While you will be responsible for updates on your website, I'm always here for extra help and for anything you might need. I do encourage clients to maintain their own website I'm always more than happy to help you with any challenges you might have.
