MORE INFORMATION & LEGALS
Any time frame quoted is dependent on all your website assets (images, content, product pics etc) being supplied at or prior to the start of the project.
While I do my best to offer you the utmost support during the process, not having your content together could result in me having to move on to other bookings and will delay your website launch. It will also lead to a $500 rebooking fee.
Unfortunately I've been left hanging in the past by clients who have underestimated the time it takes to get their content together and this can result in me having no work for a month. That's not something I can do, so time frames are set in stone. If you need to move your timeslot this can usually be done if I have enough notice.
Inside of 14 days from the due start time of the project will incur the rebooking fee.

YOUR INVOLVEMENT
WHAT IS YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN GETTING YOUR WEBSITE DONE?
Creating a new website is a serious commitment and not just from me. I want to be very clear up front this will take time and effort on your behalf. You will need to provide me with some design inspiration. You know what you like & I don't just yet & you will need the following (at the least):
A
complete content structure. Content is the text and images that make up your website. I don't create this!
Your business is known to you, not to me. While I am happy to (and probably will) optimise the text you provide for search engines, I do not write it unless we have agreed on a content package.
Your content will include:
- a full description of your business, who your ideal client is,
- products or services you provide,
- team profiles,
- any timeline of the business evolution for your about page
- pricing structures and
- all the images for this info
You will need to provide photos or links to stock photos if required. Stock photos are at your own expense.
I can provide you with a few options for purchasing stock photos. It is less than ideal, but better than no photography that's for sure.
You will be required to give feedback on initial design previews & be available for contact during the design and development period.
If you don't want to write your own content, I do have a content package for purchase.
Yes this does look expensive but getting all your content together isn't a 5 minute thing, which you will learn as you start to do it.
To take advantage of a content package you will still need some involvement initially. This is your business, not mine, so you know the nitty gritty so to speak.
I find the best way to do this is a recorded phone interview. This way I can ask questions, your answers are recorded and I find it much easier to assemble the text for your website in this manner.
This interview will usually run about 30 minutes and I will give you a brief email with what we need to talk about prior so you are ready to chat.

CONTENT TOOLS
Content is the term we use to describe all the text and images that appear on your website. I have some great tools at my disposal to make it as easy as possible to collect this information from you and your team.
MOBILE FIRST
To achieve the best outcome for any device, I build a mobile first responsive design of your website. Google has a "mobile first" priority, so it is important that your website is technically developed for mobile as a priority. This is a website standard.
PLATFORM TRAINING
I use an excellent platform to build my client websites. It is very simple to use and makes it so easy for you or a team member to maintain and update your website. I give you or your team training on the platform and then links to heaps of helpful videos.
INTEGRATED ANALYTICS
Tracking visitor use of your website is essential to make the most of your content and be sure you are giving your prospective clients the best experience. Google Analytics integration is included standard on all websites I build.
CUSTOM 404 PAGE
A 404 page is what your visitors are shown if they accidently type in the wrong URL. It's also what is shown if you accidently rename a page without redirecting it. A 404 custom page will reflect your web personality and can give you another chance to secure traffic.
2 HOUR HAND OVER
Even though we will have spent probably around 4 weeks communicating at this point, once your website is ready for hand over we will spend another 2 hours doing handover. All the "how-to's" are covered and questions answered here.
EXTENSIVE TESTING
Prior to handover, your new website is tested across browsers, platforms and devices. While phones are ever evolving this ensures that we meet all the current device standards and places us in a good place for future updates.
ONGOING SUPPORT
While you will be responsible for content updates on your website, I'm always here for extra help and for anything you might need. While I do encourage clients to maintain their own website I'm always more than happy to help you with any challenges you might have.
ONGOING COSTS
There is an ongoing monthly cost for website hosting.
While yes your files for your website are stored in "the cloud", that isn't a virtual location like everyone assumes. You can't get rain on a perfectly clear cloudless day, and you can't show your website to your visitors without those clouds.
You need a facility to store the code, layout, design and files for your images and that is the primary cost of hosting fees. These fees also include paying the platform to update any necessary code, manage your content securely, provide fast access from multiple locations (a CDN or content delivery network does this), and provide updates, new widgets and options as websites evolve.
Information based websites have a monthly fee of $45 + gst
This fee covers my platform hosting your website files, ongoing upgrades, security and access to the website editor.
I bill in arrears so your invoice on the 1st of the month will be for the month prior. 30 days notice is required for cancellation as I have to finish out my own monthly billing cycle with the platform.
So if you decide on the 15th August that you want to cancel your website you will be billed until the 15th September. The 1st of September you will receive an account with your usual monthly hosting fee (in this case $45 + gst) for August, plus an extra $22.50 + gst for your hosting from the 1st September to the 15th September.
